Kayaba, the hydraulics company and best known for its wide range
of vehicle shock absorbers, is also a major producer of automotive
power steering hydraulic pumps and has recently been selected to
supply Daimler Chrysler for its Mercedes Benz C and E class models.
Kayaba will supply Daimler Chrysler with its 4KS2 pumps, which are
high performance, lightweight and compact. The pumps will be manufactured
in Spain, and the contract confirms Kayaba Spain as one of the leading
manufacturers and suppliers of hydraulic pumps in Europe.
Kayaba already supplies Mitsubishi in Japan and NedCar in The Netherlands,
both part of Daimler Chrysler, and has been working with the automotive
group for some years.
Kayaba has a track record of supplying quality hydraulic pumps to
other manufacturers including Audi, Ford, Pininfarina and Volkswagen.
Additionally, Kayaba supplies Daimler Chrysler with its Kayaba Electronic-controlled
Energy-saving Power steering (KEEPS) units. These pumps have solenoid
valves, which save fuel and ensure smooth, comfortable steering.
Kayaba is also the world's largest supplier of shock absorbers to
