Kayaba Gives New Generation of Compact Cars its Shock Treatment
|
April, 2005 |
Kayaba has increased its original equipment (OE) business with
PSA Citroën and Toyota by supplying shock absorbers for the Citroën
C1, Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo.
The three cars share the same platform and will be manufactured
at the Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobiles (TPCA) plant in Kolin,
Czech Republic.
Kayaba's shock absorbers will initially be supplied from the company's
factory near Pamplona, Spain, its key production base for Kayaba
in Europe. Supply will then change to its purpose-built factory
in the Czech Republic, when production begins in 2006.
PSA and Toyota have jointly developed and designed these new B segment
cars in just three years. Although the cars feature many of the
same structural components, they have distinct bodies and equipment
levels reflecting the unique design cues from each of the individual
marques.
