Knowing about the products you are fitting makes
you more confident, and therefore a much better sales person.
These are some commonly asked questions by the motorist:
What is a shock absorber?
It's a hydraulic damper which controls the movement of the coil spring.
Why do I need to replace the shock absorber(s)?
Because it is a crucial part of the vehicles suspension, and it helps to keep
the tyre in contact with the road.
Why does it cost so much?
Because it's a precision engineered part which is essential to vehicle safety.
Will it wait?
The vehicle will still function, but the tyres will not be kept constantly
in contact with the road. The shock absorber will continue to deteriorate gradually.
Will I pass my MOT if I don't replace it?
A fluid leak serious enough to indicate that the seal has failed is reason
for rejection.
Can I fit it myself?
You could if you had the correct tools, but why not leave it to the experts?
Is it the same as the one you're taking off?
All KYB shocks are made to vehicle manufacturers original specification, you
can't get better than that.
How long will it take?
Depending on the model, between 20 mins and 2 hours. (Most fitting times can
be found in the KYB Catalogue.)
